At Little Hauflings Photography, I offer two signature packages: the Precious and Preferred Newborn photography Sessions. These sessions are thoughtfully designed to capture your baby’s earliest days alongside meaningful family portraits.

These sessions include a mix of Quad Cities family photography, fabric poses and props. There is even a creative digital composite image if you would like. Each detail is crafted to guarantee a comfortable experience and stunning final gallery.

Family Posing

Family portraits are among the most meaningful images from your newborn session. They capture the love, joy, and authentic connections you share during this special time. These can be done on a solid light brown backdrop or the white couch set. I love keeping these sets simple to make sure that your sweet family and heartfelt bond take center stage. I want to create timeless images of tender moments with siblings. I also want to capture the peaceful embrace as you hold your new baby. You will cherish them forever. Years from now, your children will want to see just how small they were. They will remember when you cradled them in your arms. They will want to feel how deeply they were loved from the very beginning. These portraits become cherished heirlooms. They tell the story of your family’s early days together in Quad Cities Iowa.

I usually recommend the Precious newborns for families with their first baby and Preferred newborn photography session for families with their second baby. This allows for more time as siblings need more time for family photos.

Fabric Poses 

Fabric poses offer a beautiful, simple way to highlight just how tiny and precious your newborn truly is. Your newborn baby is posed gently on soft fabric. This Quad City photography captures the little details you’ll cherish forever. You’ll love those adorable back rolls, tiny toes, and the beautiful profiles of their face. It’s in these moments when you can truly appreciate how small your little one is. They are so perfect and these timeless images will preserve those fleeting first days.

My goal is to create at least two distinct fabric poses. I will photograph several angles for each pose to guarantee you have a variety of perspectives to choose from. I typically use a white fabric and a color of your choice to give a personal touch. This keeps the focus on your baby’s natural beauty. These simple yet stunning poses highlight your newborn’s delicate features in a way that’s both timeless and unforgettable.

Digital Artistic Composite

The Digital Artistic Composite is one of the most special portraits I offer. It transforms your newborn’s portrait into a breathtaking piece of art. Both sessions includes one complimentary composite. It is created using a photo of your baby posed on fabric or fur in an adorable outfit. The composite allows me to get creative. I can place your baby in a magical scene like a dreamy moon, a beautiful bowl of flowers, or even a charming swing. They’re not just photos, they’re unique works of art. They highlight your baby in a way that feels imaginative and special.

I typically photograph 1 of 2 poses for digital composites. The first is the bum up pose on fabric at the beginning of the table poses. The second is at the end of the session in an outfit on fur. The table pose for moons is very popular! The pose on fur is really great too, as it’s still a beautiful photo all by its self!

Wrapped Basket Prop

After fabric poses we move to a basket prop. Your baby will be gently wrapped snug like a little potato. They will then be placed in a basket for that timeless, adorable look. This approach is especially helpful for awake babies. The wrap provides a sense of security, just like being in the womb. It often helps them relax and drift off to sleep. It’s also a great way to introduce variety. You can swap out backdrops to create beautiful alternatives to the classic wood floor setting.

Heart or Moon Prop Pose

In this setup, your baby remains wrapped, but I loosen the wrap just enough to showcase those precious little toes. Your baby can be nestled in a heart or cradled by a crescent moon. This pose adds a touch of whimsy to your newborn photography Quad Cities session. I often use the moon for boys and the heart for girls. These props are completely interchangeable based on your preference. If neither fits your style, round bowls are also available and pair beautifully with printed backdrops for a unique, timeless look.

Bucket Pose

For this setup, we transition to a bucket pose, with several bucket options available to match your style preferences. I carefully unwrap your baby’s arms and this reveals their tiny fingers and elbows. I keep the rest of their body securely wrapped and comfortable. This gentle adjustment adds a natural and relaxed feel to the images, blending softness with structure. Coordinating wraps and layers are often used to create a beautifully polished and cohesive look. By this point, most babies are calm and peacefully drifting into a deep sleep, allowing for serene and timeless portraits.

Bed Pose with Outfit

To wrap up the session, your baby will be gently posed on a charming little bed. They will be dressed in one of the adorable outfits from my carefully curated client closet. This setup always steals the show! With a tiny leg dangling off the side, it’s just irresistibly cute and never fails to melt my heart.. This sweet charm of your baby is a pose that never fails to melt my heart. I have a wide variety of outfits, so we can easily match your style preferences or nursery theme. The bed is styled with soft blankets and cozy textures, creating a warm and inviting scene. It’s a beautiful and memorable way to end the session, showcasing your baby looking comfortable, stylish, and completely precious.
