Celebrating her first birthday with a peach and blue cake smash in my Bettendorf studio was pure joy. As a first birthday photographer in the Quad Cities, this sweet baby girl has been in front of my camera since before she was born. I’ve watched her grow from maternity photos to newborn pictures to milestone sessions. Now here we are at her big first birthday.

The Perfect Peach and Blue Theme

This was my first time trying peach and blue for a cake smash theme. It was a fun little twist on an in-stock theme. The set turned out even better than I hoped.

Session Details That Made It Special

This little one was full of expressions during our cake smash photos in Davenport. She made faces that had me laughing behind the camera. Picking the best shots was tough because she gave me so many good ones.

I always put a diaper cover in the splash tub just in case. Splash photos are a parent favorite at these sessions. The mess and giggles make the best memories.

Cake smash sessions are messy by design. That’s what makes them so fun. The frosting gets everywhere. The baby usually ends up covered head to toe. Sometimes parents get messy too. And so do I LOL.

The cleanup is worth it for these precious moments. Every messy hand print and frosting smile tells a story.

I’ve been this family’s Quad Cities milestone photographer from the very beginning. I took maternity photos when mom was pregnant. Then newborn pictures when baby arrived. We did 3-month, 6-month, and 9-month sessions too.
