There is something so special about welcoming a long-awaited baby boy into a family of girls. His three big sisters absolutely adored this sweet little guy. Capturing their love for him brought us joy during our newborn photography session in the Quad Cities. The family came to my studio in Bettendorf, Iowa for their session. From the moment they arrived, I knew this was going to be extra special. Mom, with her stunning red hair, radiated happiness as she snuggled her precious son. We started with family photos, and let me tell you—it was the sweetest thing. First, I had Mom hold her baby boy, and the way she looked at him just melted my heart. Then, we brought in Dad, and you see how proud he was of his little guy. After that, it was time for the sisters to join in. Their faces absolutely lit up as they snuggled up next to their new baby brother. You feel how much love they already had for him!

I captured some special father-son moments next. It was just Dad and his boy. Then I brought Mom back in for a few more family shots. Then, each of the sisters had their own special moment with their new brother. The way they held him so gently was just the sweetest. We finished up with all four siblings together. It was such a joy to see them giggling. They cuddled up next to their baby brother. This family already has so much love for their newest addition, and it was an honor to document it.

After capturing these beautiful family moments, we focused on newborn portraits in my Bettendorf studio. This little guy was an absolute dream to photograph—so content, beautifully chunky, and full of the sweetest little expressions. He even treated us to some adorable smiles, making the session even more magical.

For his newborn session, we kept the setup classic and timeless, highlighting his soft baby rolls and delicate features. We started with two fabric setups—one in a clean, crisp white and the other in a rich, earthy green. These colors worked beautifully with his skin tone and made his little features stand out.

Then, we moved on to props, which are always such a fun part of a Quad Cities newborn session. We used four different setups. There was a cozy basket. We had a dreamy moon prop. We also did a classic bucket pose and a sweet little bed. Each one gave us a unique way to highlight just how tiny and precious he is at this stage. And honestly, nothing is cuter than a baby’s little leg dangling off the bed—at least in my opinion!
